Terms of use

These are the terms for Plant Buddha, our iPhone app. They sit alongside Apple's standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement, which applies to every App Store app. If the two ever conflict, Apple's agreement wins.

Using Plant Buddha

Plant Buddha helps you keep track of your houseplants and remember to care for them. You may use it for your own personal, non-commercial use. Please don't try to copy, reverse engineer or misuse the app or our server, or use the AI features to send anything unlawful.

Plant Buddha Plus

The core app, including your plants, schedules, reminders and care tasks, is free. Plant Buddha Plus is an auto-renewing subscription that adds the AI helper. Current prices are shown in the app before you subscribe, and a free trial may be offered.

• Payment is charged to your Apple ID account at confirmation of purchase, after any free trial ends.
• The subscription renews automatically unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Your account is charged for renewal within 24 hours before the period ends.
• Manage or cancel any time in Settings → your name → Subscriptions on your iPhone. Cancelling stops future renewals, and you keep Plus until the end of the period you've paid for.
• Any unused part of a free trial is forfeited when you buy a subscription.
• Apple handles billing and refunds. See the support page for how to ask Apple for a refund.
• Plus includes a fair monthly allowance of AI requests, described on the support page. We may adjust allowances to keep the service sustainable, and we'll tell you in the app if that changes what you pay for.

AI answers are estimates

Plant identifications, leaf checks, care plans and chat answers come from an AI and can be wrong. Treat them as friendly guidance, not a guarantee. Plants vary, and so do homes. If a plant is valuable to you, check with a local nursery.

Pet and child safety. Information about whether a plant is safe for pets or people is an estimate. Always check with your vet or a poison-control service before letting a pet or child near a plant, and contact them right away if you think a plant has been eaten.

Your plants and data

Your plants, notes and photos are yours. They stay on your phone, as described in the privacy policy. Back them up from Settings, since we don't keep a copy and can't restore them for you.

No warranty, limited liability

Plant Buddha is provided "as is". To the fullest extent the law allows, we aren't liable for losses arising from your use of the app, including lost data, a plant that didn't thrive, or reliance on an AI answer. Nothing here limits rights you have under your local consumer laws.

Changes

We may update these terms as the app grows. If a change matters, we'll update the date above and let you know in the app.
